Do you buy vitamins and mineral supplements from the web? This can be an excellent way to shop for your supplement needs. It can helpful if you want to compare supplements and see what vitamins and minerals are present in each brand.

Comparing labels and ingredients at a the local retail vitamin shop can be hard. The web can help you easily compare because most online shops will list the ingredients and even post a full sized version of the label. Just print them off and lay them side by side and make notes as needed to see what you are getting with each brand.

This can give you an idea of which supplement you want to buy. Most will be different and may have 100% or more of an essential vitamin but may lack trace minerals etc. This can leave you buying multiple products to try to fill the gaps. Manually putting together a complete formula can be challenging and expensive.

Are You Getting Your Vitamins And Minerals

The human body is amazing in that it can synthesize numerous chemicals essential to life. One thing the body can't do is create the most basic of building blocks...that being the individual elements. These must be supplied either through the diet or from supplements.

Certain Minerals are essential for life...and must be available for optimum health. Decades of nutritional research has allowed for the establishment of Recommended Daily Intake (RDI) levels for several vitamins and minerals.

These guidelines are "suggested" to help one determine their daily needs. It should be noted that disease can lead to issues with the body's ability to absorb and use nutrients.  Even nutrient deficiencies of one type can prevent the use of other nutrients.

The basis of good nutrition is that vitamins and minerals work together to keep us healthy. The table below lists the RDI for several vitamins and minerals. Keep in mind that your individual needs may vary and you may want to consult with your health care provider to help you determine your needs.
